WHAT IS NEW DIRECTIONS? We’re a support and education group for people with bipolar disorder, depression and their families & friends. Our mission is to help people achieve meaningful, productive and happy lives even if that means changing our goals and our lifestyles to accommodate our illness.
WHO CAN ATTEND? Highly motivated people with a primary diagnosis of a mood disorder (bipolar disorder or depression) who are under the care of a physician for their condition. Friends and families of individuals with mood disorders are welcome.
WHERE ARE MEETINGS HELD?
EVENING MEETINGS: Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road at Susquehanna, Abington PA 19001. We attract an average of 40 people per meeting, ages 20 to 75. Newcomers welcome.
We meet the FIRST – THIRD – and FIFTH Tuesday of the month from 7:30 to 9:45 pm. Guest speaker on the Third Tuesday of the month.
DAYTIME MEETINGS: We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at the Willow Grove Giant Supermarket, 315 Old York Road, Willow Grove PA from 10 to noon. Helen Kirschner, leader. Call her to be added to her “Caller List” at 215-646-0266.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Evening meeting only: $5 per person, $8 per family.
