This Sunday, we’ll hike at beautiful Tamanend Park in Southampton, PA. See website.
The park is at 1255 Second Street Pike (Route 232) in Southampton (Bucks County), PA 18966.
There are plenty of shady trails in this historic park. Bring your lunch to picnic after our walk.
We’ll carpool at 10 AM from ABINGTON FREE LIBRARY, next to the church, on the church-side of the library.
OR meet at Tamanend at the Office at 10:30 am.
Good signs mark the spot.
Tamanend Park was part of the William Penn land acquisition of 1683 from Chief Tamanend. In 1975, the Upper Southampton Township and Centennial School District joined to purchase Tamanend Park, part of the former Leedom homestead, for nearly one million dollars. The school district built Klinger Middle School on a portion of the land, while the rest is used for our natural park and recreation areas.
