Intro to Yoga and Mindfulness
Have you heard about all the great benefits of yoga and mindfulness, but you are not sure where to begin? Flexibility, strength, balance, mental clarity and relaxation- yoga can provide all of these wonderful benefits and more while creating a beautiful connection to the self and all those around you. In this introductory class, you will learn a series of basic poses, breathing techniques and sequences that are available to anyone and everyone regardless of experience. No experience necessary, all levels welcome.
This class will be facilitated by Jamie Nichols. Jamie found her way to the path of yoga in 2004 when volunteering at a local studio in exchange for classes. After many trials with other paths, yoga was the only practice that helped her to feel truly whole and healthy. Jamie knew from that point on that yoga would be an integral part of her life. She received her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification in 2011 in the Hatha tradition. Jamie went on to earn both Level I and Level II Restorative Yoga Certification as well as Reiki Level I Certification. Jamie is currently in her final year of a graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling program after which she will receive Licensure as a Professional Counselor. Additionally, Jamie will receive her completed certification for teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through Jefferson University in July of 2016. Jamie’s deepest desire is to bring the practices of yoga and mindfulness to the community to offer the same sense of wellness to others that she has been fortunate to experience herself.
